Justine Brisson
justine.brisson@sciencespo.frJustine Brisson is a PhD candidate at Sciences Po Paris, under the supervision of Astrid von Busekist (Sciences Po) and Tiphaine Samoyault (EHESS). At the crossroads of literature and political theory, her dissertation traces the conceptual history of the neutral after 1947, from Roland Barthes to Guillaume Dustan.
She holds a Master's degree in Modern Literature from Paris-III Sorbonne-Nouvelle University (2020), a Master's degree in Political Theory from Sciences Po (2020), and a Master's degree in Philosophy from the École Normale Supérieure (2019).
She is a member of the editorial board of Fabula-LhT. She has been a visiting researcher at Columbia University (recipient of the Alliance Doctoral Mobility Grant, 2021), at Harvard University (recipient of the Sciences Po-Harvard Fellowship, 2022–2023), where she worked on Maurice Blanchot’s archives at the Houghton Library, and at Stanford University (France-Stanford Center for Interdisciplinary Studies, 2024).
Justine Brisson has taught courses in French literature (20th–21st centuries), political theory, and history of ideas at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Sciences Po, Paris 8, and Paris Nanterre. She has also served as a Teaching Assistant for various undergraduate and core curriculum courses.
