Thibault Fournol is a PhD candidate at the Centre for International Studies (CERI) at Sciences Po since 2021 and a Research Fellow at the Foundation for Strategic Research, where he coordinates the Observatory of Multilateralism in the Indo- Pacific. His research focuses on India's foreign policy in the Indo-Pacific, with a particular emphasis on Indian practices in regional cooperation. As part of his doctoral studies, he explores the "forumisation" of Indian multilateral practices in the Indo-Pacific and the role of non-state actors in India’s foreign policy. His thesis is supervised by Christophe Jaffrelot (CERI-Sciences Po) and Delphine Allès (Inalco).

He has conducted multiple research stays in India, including as a Visiting Fellow at the National Maritime Foundation (2024), at the Observer Research Foundation (2023), and as a Visiting PhD Scholar at the Centre for Social Sciences and Humanities – CSH (2022). In 2023, he also participated in the EU-India Young Leaders program, funded by the European Union and led by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).

Before joining CERI, Thibault completed a Master's degree in Political Science – International Relations at Sciences Po and pursued Hindi studies at the National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilisations (Inalco).
