One-year Master's programmes
One-year master’s programmes at Sciences Po deliver an intensive curriculum designed for young professionals seeking to take their career to the next level.
Programmes differ from Two-Years Master's programmes by their duration (one year instead of two). They are intended for young professionals eager to develop the expertise they need to boost their careers. These programmes are taught entirely in English.
Discover our One-Year Master's programmes.
The Admissions Process
Admission to our one-year Master's programmes is based on an assessment of the applicant's academic background and professional experience. When making its decision, the selection committee will also consider the applicant’s motivation, the coherence of his or her project, and the references provided.
Please note: The one-year Master’s programmes admission procedure is exclusive of any other procedure. Applicants must therefore choose whether to apply to a 2-year Master’s programme (regular Master's and/or dual degree), a PhD programme or to a one-year Master's programme.
Deadlines for the 2025 intake
Final deadline to submit your complete application: 6 April 2025.
Admission decisions are given at the latest:
- 2 April 2025, for complete applications received before 19 January 2025
- 5 June 2025, for complete applications received between 20 January and 6 April 2025
Please note: all deadlines always refer to Paris time (11.59pm).
Anticipate: Before you start your application, make sure to gather all the information required, for example: request official documents, choose and contact your referees, take your language tests and check your visa status.
Before you apply
How to apply
Creating an account requires you to indicate an ID (your email address) and a password. Please do not create multiple accounts. It may take up to two hours before receiving the activation link.
You cannot use the same application form twice. If you already applied in the past, you must create a new application form.
For further information, check the application guide.
You can select only one one-year Master’s programme. You cannot apply to two different One-Year Master’s programmes or a combination with regular Master's programmes or a PhD programme.
Please note: You may only apply to Sciences Po's programmes once per academic year. Should your application be unsuccessful, it is not possible to apply to a different programme or through another procedure for the same academic year. You may apply again next year to one of our programmes, through the same procedure or through a different one, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria.

We recommend you to start your application by filling in the reference section. This will ensure referees have adequate time to reply.

When required, take the language tests as early as possible. Depending on the test, obtaining your language test scores may take up to three months. You must therefore take the necessary precautions in order to provide your results whilst respecting the deadlines.
To be assessed, your application must be complete and submitted before the deadline.
For all one-year Master's programmes you must upload the following documents in your application file in English and in PDF format:

Acceptable formats include scanned copies of paper transcripts produced by the institution, electronic transcripts produced by the institution, and web-based academic records produced by the institution and containing your name and the name of the institution. The Admissions Office reserves the right to request official transcripts at any time during the application process.
- If applicable, a translation (official or carefully and accurately made by the candidate) into English or French depending on the programme. Please send it along with the academic transcript in the original language.

Specific documents

Do not exceed the word limit indicated in the section "motivation letter" of your online application.
Assessors read a large number of letters each day and appreciate those which have been carefully written and structured.
Applicants should show a concrete idea of the professional field (or even position) that they are aiming for, and that they state clearly what aspects of their personality or background have led them to make this choice.
The adequacy between the applicant's career plans and the training sought is evaluated to ensure that the prospective student stands to gain the most from it. It is important to us, and to the applicants, that we offer them the training and academic framework that they need. Applicants must therefore clarify the reasons why they have chosen the given programme, what aspects they find attractive and explain how Sciences Po would be an integral part of their plans.
For all one-year Master's programmes, please write your personal statement in English.
The application fee of €150 is not refundable. We do not offer fee waivers, unless you have refugee status. In that case, please contact us and attach the official proof of your current situation.
Please note: paying the application fee does not mean that your application form has been submitted. Make sure to submit your application by clicking on the Submit button.
Do not wait until the very last day to submit your application. To be assessed, your application must be completed and submitted before the deadline.
Please note: all deadlines always refer to Paris time (11.59pm).
Important: Our platform does not automatically invalidate incomplete files. It is your responsibility to submit a complete application, including all required documents and references.
Once you have submitted your application, no new document or element will be accepted, unless requested by the Admissions office.

Once your application is submitted, you can track the status of your application on your dashboard.
