Our Missions

The Africa Programme encompasses all initiatives related to Africa at Sciences Po. It is an interdisciplinary structure that spans across various research centers, departments, schools, campuses, and directorates, providing a unique interface between education and research.

Its mission is to promote, coordinate, and animate Sciences Po's scientific, educational, and partnership activities related to the African continent. Similar programs are established for other regions (Middle East, Latin America, South Asia) with the explicit intention of strengthening comparative studies of societies in the Global South.

The primary purpose of the Africa Programme is to enhance research in Africa and foster scientific, educational, and cultural collaborations between Sciences Po and partner universities on the continent. It aims specifically to highlight students' work by integrating them into a collective dynamic at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral/postdoctoral levels.

In terms of education, the Programme supports students during their first three years of education, especially those who opt for the Africa Minor at the Reims Campus.

The Africa Programme also provides a unique space for dialogue between researchers, artists, leaders, and civil society actors who exchange their perspectives on Africa and the world.
