Karine Tuil’s little library
The Sciences Po Library and the Maison des Arts et de la Création are pleased to offer you a unique and intimate conversation in French on the books that have shaped Karine Tuil's personality and influenced her writing and her work.
Since her first publication in 2000, Karine Tuil has been putting the tensions of contemporary society into words, against a backdrop of the intimate upheavals of her characters, with works such as “La décision” (2022), which looks at the day-to-day life of an anti-terrorist investigating judge. Unafraid of taboos and complexities, her writing is above all about freedom, both in content and form.
Karine Tuil won the Prix Interallié and the Prix Goncourt des lycéens in 2019 for her novel “Les Choses humaines”, published by Éditions Gallimard and adapted for the screen by Yvan Attal. Her latest work, “Kaddish pour un amour” (2023), returns to the word in its very form, drawing on the Hebrew poetic tradition to address the loss of a loved one.
