Forests account for 31% of land area and are home to over 80% of the world's biodiversity. They play an essential role in regulating the climate, absorbing and storing billions of tonnes of CO2. What are forests? What threats do forests face? What can be done to protect them? What is the right balance between using and protecting forests? These are just some of the questions the library is trying to answer as part of the Forests Cycle, with an exhibition of photographs, a discussion and a thematic selection.
