How to disseminate your data

As a significant player in the open science movement, CDSP offers the French academic community a service for the documentation, dissemination and preservation of research data from the social sciences. The data are selected for their importance to research and/or education, their heritage value or their uniqueness.

Why deposit your data with CDSP?

Depositing your data with CDSP ensures that they are archived and shared according to FAIR principles. It is also a way to add value by making them accessible to the scientific community, as well as a means to offer students material on which to learn. And of course it is also an effective way to increase the visibility and impact of your work! CDSP will support you throughout this process, from the moment the data are deposited through to anonymisation and publication.

How will my data to be disseminated and reused?

The use of your data by third parties will be conditional on their acceptance of the General Terms and Conditions governing data.sciencespo, Sciences Po’s institutional data repository. By accepting these GTCs, secondary users undertake to follow the rules and the principles of scientific integrity.

The data deposited with CDSP are processed, documented and disseminated by CDSP’s engineers, in accordance with national rules, with good professional practices and with international data exchange standards (OAIS and DDI).

They can be found in CDSP’s Databank and...

  • are identified for citation by an unique identifier (DOI) and citation format,
  • are meticulously contextualised and described using open metadata standards recommended by the professional bodies and in accordance with good archival practices (DDI, DC),
  • are interoperable and referenced by metadata created by CDSP’s engineers down to the level of the variables, accessible to all independently of the data, and via several benchmark French and international platforms (CESSDA, B2Find, Isidore, OpenAire, RechercheDataGouv),
  • are accessible subject to explicit terms and conditions of use and after manual authorisation by the engineers, using a secure access protocol that requires user authentication and the acceptance of the terms and conditions of use of the data.sciencespo.fr archive and of the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence used by CDSP for the sharing of data,
  • are converted into permanent formats in order to guarantee their preservation.
