Angela María Osorio Méndez is a PhD candidate in Urban Studies at the Gran Sasso Science Institute (L’Aquila). She studied architecture and visual arts, and graduated with a double degree MSc in Architecture and Urban Environment both, at the Polytechnic of Turin (Italy) and the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana of Bogotá (Colombia). She worked for a year in an Urban Renewal project in the city of Turin and has ever since she been interested on researching issues related to the governance of the city and the delivery of welfare services and their territorialisation. For her PhD dissertation, she is currently investigating the forms of agency that pregnant women enact when putting together an answer to their health needs within a fragmented local welfare system as that of the city of Naples, Italy.
