Marie Inès Harté

PhD Candidate


Marie Inès Harté is a graduate from Sciences Po Bordeaux, where she earned a Master in international studies. She then started her career in Colombia, at the National Centre for Historical Memory, as a Junior Resarch Assistant for a project on Memory and Forced Displacement. There, she was trained in the methodology of historical memory and emblematic cases. Since 2013, she is a lecturer at the Universidad Externado de Colombia, and in 2022 she joined the Centre for research and special projects (CIPE) of the Faculty of Finance and International Relations at the same university. She is currently a PhD candidate, jointly supervised by Sandrine Lefranc at the CEE and by Patricia Herrera Kit at the CIPE (so-called 'co-tutelle' programme with Sciences Po and Universidad Externado de Colombia).

Research

Her research focus is on transitionnal justice and peace building processes, institutions and public policies on truth and memory, namely in Latin America, and on the place and role of victims in memory initiatives.

Teaching

Marie Inès Harté has taught at the Faculty of Finance and International Relations of Universidad Externado de Colombia: introduction to political science and introduction to international relations (Bachelor level); transitional justice (Master level). She also organised several 'extension' programmes and Summer Schools on the post-conflict Colombia.
