Sciences Po, CEE & MaxPo

Mattia Lupi holds a PhD in political science from Sciences Po, a Master’s degree in Public Policy from LUISS University and received a Bachelor in Political Science and International Relations from Roma Tre University. His research interests include political history, political economy and the politics of central banking. His thesis project aimed to assess the interplay between the Bank of Italy and the political elite between the 1970s and early 1990s when major political, institutional, and financial changes occurred. In particular, he studied how the consolidation of the autonomy of Italy’s central bank in the face of the Treasury took place and how this influenced the historical development of Italy in the context of globalization and EU integration.

He is now a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bologna (Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna), working on the project "New Conflicts' Mapping in the age of Globalization".
