Ömer Faruk Metin was a PhD candidate in Comparative Politics at Sciences Po, CEE until January 2022. He joined the CEVIPOF in February 2022.

He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Bilkent University, Ankara, in 2018. Prior to joining MaxPo, Ömer participated as a research assistant in several projects conducted by UNESCO IIEP and Sciences Po Médialab. He received a Master’s degree from Sciences Po, Paris School of International Affairs, where he wrote his master thesis on the measurement of populism with text classification, using Facebook posts from Yellow Vests supporters. Ömer’s doctoral research project at CEE explores how emotion and reason interact to constitute a thoughtful and attentive citizenry in a European context. His research aims to make contributions to experimental methodology in the studies of political psychology and public opinion.
