David Schäfer is a PhD candidate at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). His research is on the EU banking union negotiations. He analyses both national preferences and the interstate negotiations. His research was recently published in the Journal of Common Market Studies (JCMS). Previous to coming to LSE, he studied at the College of Europe (Bruges) and the University of Cologne. He is a co-founder of the annual Re-Inventing Europe conference at the College of Europe.
