Elena Cossu

Post-doctorante - Projet AUTHLIB


Elena Cossu is a researcher specializing in data science and quasi-experimental methods in political science. Her work focuses on measuring democratic backsliding in Europe.

Currently, she is part of the AUTHLIB project at Sciences Po, where she uses natural language processing (NLP) techniques to analyze illiberalism in Europe by examining political texts such as social media posts and public speeches.

She earned her PhD at Corvinus University, with co-supervision from University College London, as part of the European Commission MSCA FATIGUE project . Her dissertation explored the conceptualization of policies tied to populist rhetoric in Europe and assessed their impacts in Hungary using NLP and quasi-experimental approaches.
