Maria Elisabetta Lanzone is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Teaching Assistant at the University of Genoa (Department of Political Sciences), and Adjunct Professor in Political Sociology at University of Padua, Italy. She received her PhD in Political Science from the University of Pavia and she spent two periods in France and Belgium as Visiting Scholar. She is expert in European populism, Euroscepticism and New Social Movements. Her researches have been published in some international journals such as “Participation and Conflict” and “Politics and Governance”. From 2015 she is also member of the ERMES Laboratory at University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, France.

Visiting projects and objectives
The main research will focus on European Parliament (MEPs voting behaviour) and migration policies. In the same context, the analysis will be related to immigration as political problem with a particular attention to the concepts of ‘people’, ‘nation’ and ‘sovereignty’.
