Théodore Tallent

Théodore Tallent est doctorant au Centre d’études européennes et de politique comparée (CEE) à Sciences Po depuis septembre 2022 et enseignant en science politique. Ancien étudiant du Collège universitaire de Sciences Po et de l’Ecole d’affaires publiques (master Affaires européennes), il a également étudie un an à la New York University et a réalisé un second master (MPhil in Environmental Policy) à l’Université de Cambridge. Théodore est également chercheur affilié au Cambridge Centre for Environment, Energy and Natural Resource Governance (C-EENRG), un centre de recherche de l'Université de Cambridge spécialisé dans la gouvernance des transitions environnementales. De janvier à mars 2024, il a été visiting researcher à la London School of Economics (LSE) et en février et mars 2025, il a été visiting researcher à l’Université d’Oxford et à Nuffield College. 

Spécialiste des enjeux politiques et sociaux liés à la transition écologique, il intervient régulièrement dans les médias pour discuter de leur place dans le débat politique, du "backlash" écologique et des freins à l' "acceptabilité" de la transition par les citoyens. Il travaille également avec de nombreux acteurs (think tanks, ONG, décideurs publics), en France et au niveau européen, sur différents projets stratégiques autour de l’accélération de la transition écologique.

Travaux de Recherche

Il étudie l'opposition à la transition écologique hors des grandes métropoles. Il s'intéresse ainsi notamment à l'opinion des citoyens de ces territoires à l'égard des politiques climatiques, et les raisons qui peuvent les amener à exprimer du mécontentement à l’égard de la transition écologique. Mêlant méthodes quantitatives et qualitatives, avec notamment une étude de terrain l'amenant à réaliser de nombreux entretiens en zones rurales, sa thèse ambitionne ainsi de comprendre les freins à l’ « acceptabilité » des politiques climatiques dans certains territoires et à contribuer aux réflexions autour de la « transition juste » en Europe.
