Ana-Maria Szilagyi

Ana-Maria Szilagyi is a PhD candidate in Political Science at Sciences Po where she is specializing in political theory. Her dissertation explores theories of work, along with conceptions of service and servitude in the UK and the US across the 20th century. She explores and builds upon the writings of paid domestic workers and feminist theorists through archival research, histories of unionization, and debates on citizenship, work and domestic work.

 

She holds a B.A in Social Science from Sciences Po, a B.A in Economics and Philosophy from Columbia University and an M.A in Political Theory from Sciences Po. She has taught multiple courses on domestic work, welfare states and care and her work has been presented in a number of conferences across Europe. She won the Lovinescu-Lerunca prize in 2024. In 2023, she was a Visiting Fellow at LSE while undertaking archival work. She has been a Humanity in Action Fellow (2017) and a Kathryn Davis for Peace Fellow (2017).
