Ciara Luxton
Having obtained a joint honours bachelor’s degree in philosophy and French at the University of Oxford, Ciara Luxton completed her master’s degree in political science, majoring in political theory, at Sciences Po Paris’s Research School. Her master’s dissertation set out a normative perspective on intra-alliance spying.
Accepted for a doctorate in 2023, Ciara is preparing a thesis on the different expressions and multiple dimensions of the concept of equality at the international level. She focusses particularly on equality in partnerships, and on contexts in which there are significant material inequalities at play. Specialising in analytical philosophy and applied ethics, her work aligns with broader themes on distributive justice and representation in global ethics. At Sciences Po, Ciara is jointly affiliated with the CEVIPOF and the CERI.
