AI for Economic Inclusion
New Scientific Panel
IPIE Scientific Panel (launched during te 2025 AI Action Summit, Paris)
Tuesday, February 11th, 2025, at Sciences Po, Salon scientifiques
Artificial Intelligence systems are transforming the structure of opportunities for people around the world. There is growing evidence about how best to design and audit recommender systems, large language models, and training datasets to prevent past patterns of discrimination from being entrenched.
Using the latest advances in policy science— from randomized control trials to meta-analysis—what are the best ways to prevent gender, race, and class-based discrimination in employment, banking, housing, and other domains of economic activity? How can we promote economic inclusion through AI?
The IPIE is an independent and global science organization providing new knowledge about the health of the world's information environment. The Swiss-based IPIE offers policymakers, industry, and civil society actionable scientific assessments about threats, including AI bias, algorithmic manipulation, and disinformation.
The IPIE is the only scientific body systematically organizing, evaluating, and elevating research to improve the global information environment. Worldwide, hundreds of researchers contribute to IPIE scientific assessments.
