Engineer in applied seismology
An engineer in applied seismology and auditor for the 9th national session on “strategic crisis management” at the Institut des Hautes Etudes du Ministère de l'Intérieur (IHEMI), Samuel Auclair coordinates BRGM's crisis management support activities. Since January 2023, he has also been co-leading the “Industrial and territorial resilience” challenge for the SAFE Cluster.
A specialist in decision-support tools for earthquakes, he works more broadly on the issue of operational management of natural hazards, and on support for civil security players, notably through crisis exercises. From 2018 to 2022, he was the national coordinator of the emergency building diagnostics program of the French Paraseismic Engineering Association (AFPS).
S. Auclair is currently the scientific coordinator of the ANR RéSoCIO project, focusing on the automatic analysis of social media to support crisis management in the event of natural disasters.
