Elite and Sustainable? Community Initiative for Sustainable Consumption among the Urban Rich in China
Résumé :
In this seminar, Mallory Xinyu Zhan will introduce her postdoctoral research project targeting the issue of elite consumption in China. Through partnership with local environmental groups in selected Chinese cities, this research will engage with affluent Chinese citizen-consumers in co-designing a community initiative for sustainable consumption, which will target the disruption of a set of collectively-identified high-emitting consumption practices (e.g., frequent air travel, intensive energy usage, meat-based diet, etc.), toward the promotion of sufficiency-oriented lifestyles at the local level.
Présentation et texte en anglais, échanges en anglais et français.
