Jan Sebastian Nimczik

Jan Sebastian NIMCZIK is Assistant Professor of Economics at the European School of Management and Technology Berlin (ESMT Berlin) since 2019. Previously he worked as a Post Doctoral Fellow at Humboldt University. He obtained his PhD in Economics in 2017 at the University of Mannheim.

His research investigates the structure and functioning of labour markets. His recent papers cover the scope of local labour markets, the role of worker mobility in knowledge diffusion, and the effects of network structures on labour markets. He has already been awarded a number of prizes for his work, and notably the German Prize for Economics, Best Paper Award by the Joachim Herz Foundation in 2020, the UniCredit Econ Job Market Best Paper Award and Young Labour Economist Prize by the European Association of Labor Economists, both in 2016.
