Michael BEST is Assistant Professor of Economics at Columbia University since 2017. He is also a Research Affiliate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), an Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and at the Bureau for Research and Economic Analysis of Development (BREAD), and an International Research Fellow at the Institute of Fiscal Studies (IFS). Prior to joining Columbia he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy.

His research interests include Public Economics and Development Economics.
