David Dorn

David DORN is the UBS Foundation Professor of Globalization and Labor Markets at the Department of Economics of the University of Zurich. He also serves as the Director of the University of Zurich’s interdisciplinary research priority program on “Equality of Opportunity.” He is a Research Fellow at IZA, CESIfo, and CEPR. He was previously a tenured Associate Professor at the Center for Monetary and Financial Studies (CEMFI) in Madrid. 

His research connects the fields of labour economics, international trade, economic geography, macroeconomics, and political economy. In particular, he studies how globalization and technological innovation affect labor markets and society. Published regularly in peer-reviewed international journals, he has also been awarded a number of research grants and was the recipient of the Excellence Award in Global Economic Affairs from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW) in 2014.
