Roy-ADRES Seminar - Sept 18th
In-Uck PARK is the Leverhulme Professor of Industrial Organization at the University of Bristol. He has also taught at the Sungkyunkwan University in South Korea and at the University of Pittsburgh.
His main research concerns how asymmetric information issues may be addressed to enhance efficiency and welfare through coordination. He studies informal channels (cheap-talk communication and reputation); formal schemes (contracting); and how such devices may complement each other in dynamic environments. Some of his work ventures into more fundamental quests in the areas of game theory and decision theory. Some papers focus on externalities from coordinated actions among agents. He has been the recipient of a number of Korean Science Foundation grants, as well as British ESRC Research Grants.
