Portrait of Pierre Cahuc

Pierre Cahuc is Professor of Economics at the Department since 2018. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institut universitaire de France (IUF), a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) as well as at IZA, where he directs the "Labour Markets" research programme. He also directs Sciences Po's Chair Sécurisation des parcours professionnels. He is senior editor of Economic Policy and editor of the IZA Journal of Labor Economics.

Pierre's research mainly focuses on the labour market and its relationship with macroeconomics. Considered to be one of Europe's leading labour economists, he has held a number of positions in advisory institutions to the French government - he has been a member of the Council of Economic Analysis from 2006 to 2010 and from 2012 to 2016, the Expert Group on the Minimum Wage in France (2012-2016), the National Economic Commission (an advisory council of the French Minister of Economics and Finance), and of the Council on Employment, Income and Social Cohesion.

At the next Friday Seminar, he will present the results of the AvenirPro experiment, joint with Jérémy Hervelin (t ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research), and Arne Uhlendorff (CREST-Ecole Polytechnique).

David Arboleda Carcamo is a Research Assistant working on Clément de Chaisemartin's ERC CoG project Completing the revolution : Enhancing the reality, the principles, and the impact of economics' credibility revolution (REALLYCREDIBLE).

He graduated in economics summa cum laude from the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. 

He will also present a paper at the next Friday Seminar on the topic:
