Syngjoo Choi is Professor of Economics at the Seoul National University (SNU). He is also a Visiting Distinguished Research Professor of Economics at the University of Limassol (2024 - 2027) as well as the Co-Director of SNU's Center for Experimental and Behavioral Social Science and a Board Member of the Center for Social Value Enhancement Studies. Prior to joining SNU, he was Associate Professor at University College London (UCL).

His research focuses on experimental economics and behavioural economics. He has published extensively in both top-tier general publications and specialised reviews. He was the recipient of the of the Chungram Award (Korean Economic Association) in 2017 and of the Dasan Young Economist Award (Korea Economic Daily) in 2018.
