Javier Bianchi
Javier BIANCHI is a Monetary Advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Before joining the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Among his editorial duties, he is Co-editor of the Journal of International Economics.

His research areas are in international macroeconomics, macroeconomics, and macro-finance. His is interested in understanding the origins of financial crises and the role of government policies. Recently, his work has focused on macroprudential policy, foreign reserve accumulation, bank runs, sovereign debt crises, and exchange rates.

Regularly published in top tier reviews in economics, he is also the recipient of the Excellence Award in Global Economic Affairs (Kiel Institute for the World Economy), the Morosoli de Bronce in Economics (Fundacion L. Rubial) and the Raul Trajtenberg Uruguay National Prize in Economics.
