Daniela HORTA SAENZ is a PhD candidate in Economics at the Aix-Marseille School of Economics (AMSE), working on a thesis entitled Nation Building in Post-Conflict Settings, under the supervision of Timothée Demont and Tanguy van Ypersele. She is also a Teaching Fellow (A.T.E.R.) at the Department this year.
Her research interests lie at the intersection of development economics, political economy, and conflict, with a primary focus on South Africa and Colombia. Her current research projects examine the legacy of conflict and conflict resolution policies on nation-building and human capital accumulation.
Daniela Horta Saenz will present a paper, joint with Thomas Gautier and Gianluca Russo, at the next Friday Seminar on the topic:

Diego DE SOUSA RODRIGUES is a Phd candidate in Economics at Sciences Po, working on a thesis entitled The Effect of Intermediary Efficiency on Misallocation of Resources in the Productive Sector, under the supervision of Xavier Ragot. He is currently working in parallel within the Structural Economics Division at the Bank of England, under the guidance of Tim Willems.
His research interests are macroeconomics, monetary and fiscal policies, and firm dynamics. He is focusing at the moment on heterogenous agent models in order to understand how monetary policy in conjunction with fiscal policy can optimally respond to economic shocks.
Diego de Sousa Rodrigues will also present a paper, joint with Naomi Cohen, at the next Friday Seminar on the topic:
