LEPI Webinar Series - Mar 26th
The LEPI is an interdisciplinary initiative involving the Department of Economics (co-founders: Roberto GALBIATI, Emeric HENRY) and the Law School at Sciences Po (co-founders: Katja LANGENBUCHER, Horatia MUIR WATT, Dina WAKED).
The discipline of law and economics, and its focus on the emergence of laws, on judicial decision making and on how laws structure economic activity, is experiencing a rapid shift due to the rise of big data, of large web based giants and of new challenges raised by climate change and increasing inequality. Such a shift raises numerous questions.
The LEPI will be a forum and will stimulate and disseminate research in this field.
Guest speakers will be Giacomo CALZOLARI (EUI, Department of Economics) and Tom C.W. LIN (Temple University, Beasley School of Law) who will discuss their recent work on the economic and societal impact of algorhitmic collusion and the use of AI in financial markets, as well as the role of law should play at the crossroads of AI and markets.
The discussion will be followed by a Q&A with the participants.
If you would like to attend, registration is free but mandatory (link).
Time: Thursday, March 26th – 11 AM to 1 PM
Location: Zoom
