Portrait of Matthew W. Grant

Matthew W. Grant is Assistant Professor of Economics at Dartmouth College since 2020. Prior to joining Dartmouth, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research and an International Economics Section (IES) Postdoctoral Fellow at Princeton. He holds a PhD in Economics from Yale.

His research is in international trade and political economy.  His doctoral dissertation was awarded the George Trimis Prize for Distinguished Dissertation in Economics. In 2020 he was the recipient of a Private Enterprise Development in Low Income Countries (PEDL) grant for his project “Tracing Nigerian supply chains” (with M. Startz).
