Gonzague Vannoorenberghe is Associate Professor at the Economics School of Louvain (ESL) of the Université Catholique de Louvain (UC Louvain). He is also President of the Institute of Economic and Social Research (IRES), a UC Louvain economics research centre that belongs to the Louvain Institute of Data Analysis and Modeling in economics and statistics (LIDAM). Before joining UC Louvain, he taught at the University of Tilburg.

His research is primarily in the field of international trade. He is currently working on a project funded by the Fonds de la recherche scientifique (FNRS) with Frédéric Docquier (LISER) entitled Globalization, inequality and populism across Europe.
