PEPES Seminar - Jun 13th

Awa Ambra SECK is an an Academy Scholar at the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies. She is also a Research Affiliate at the Laboratory for Effective Anti-Poverty Policies (LEAP) and the Center for International Development (CID). In 2024, she will join the Business, Government, and the International Economy Unit at Harvard Business School as an Assistant Professor. She was awarded her PhD in Economics from Harvard in 2023.

Her work is at the intersection of development economics, economic history, and political economy. She focuses on Africa and studies how colonial policies persisted and shaped current economic development, with a focus on emigration patterns, as well as how cultural traits and economics intertwine.
