Portrait of Nicolas Astier

Nicolas Astier is Professor at the Paris School of Economics (PSE). He is also PSE's Chair of Sustainable Long-Distance Mobility, a researcher at the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and Ingénieur des Ponts, des Eaux et des Forêts. Prior to joining PSE, he was a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford (Bits & Watts Initiative, Precourt Institute for Energy). He has also served as an economist at the Commission de régulation de l'énergie (French energy regulator).

His main research area is energy and environmental economics, with a deep interest in the on-going transformation of the electricity industry and the decarbonation of fossil-fuel intensive sectors.
