Kate Smith is Assistant Professor at the London School of Economics (LSE) since 2022 after completion of her PhD in Economics at University College London (UCL). She is also a Research Fellow at the Institute for Fiscal Studies and an Associate at the Suntory and Toyota International Centres for Economics and Related Disciplines (STICERD). 

Her research interests are in public finance, industrial organisation and applied microeconomics, with a particular focus on tax policy.
