Clément Imbert

Clément IMBERT joined the Department in 2023 as Full Professor. He joined us from the University of Warwick where he was a faculty member since 2015. Prior to that he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Economics and at Nuffield College (Oxford) for three years. He is a Full Member of the European Development Network (EUDN) and a Research Affiliate at the Bureau for Research and Economic Analysis of Development (BREAD), at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), and at the Abdul Latif Jameel – Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL).

His research interests span development, environment, labour, public economics, and political economy. His current research is on labour market programs, internal migration, and environmental issues in developing countries.

Clément Imbert’s research is recognised internationally. He has received substantial grants for his projects from the European Union, from the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation, from the British Academy, J-PAL and the International Growth Centre (Bihar) and his work has been published in the American Economic Journal: Applied, the American Economic Review, the Journal of the European Economic Association, the Journal of Development Economics and the Journal of Political Economy.

Clément Imbert holds a PhD in Economics from the Paris School of Economics (PSE) and a degree from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan.
