WHAT IS THE PUBLIC POLICY INCUBATOR AND WHY PROPOSING A CHALLENGE ?
The Public Policy Incubator is a program at the core of the School of Public Affairs pedagogical project. Every year from January to May, about 100 first year Master students gather in groups of 4-6 to tackle a concrete problem addressing common good issues and faced by a private, public or associative partner. We refer this problem as a “challenge”.
The specificity of the Public Policy Incubator is to rely on design methodology to teach the students new ways of conceiving and implementing public policies.
As a partner, the programme is an opportunity to change how you usually look at your problems. The students will not have for mere objective to form a diagnostic, but to draw from their observation and knowledge learned in the field to formalize a concrete solution that can be tested by the users and experimented with.
Since 2018, 47 partners from diverse backgrounds have shared their issues with our students and welcome them into their organizations. In return, they have been presented with prototypes and proposals to solve the problem at stake (see below the gallery of projects and prototypes).
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMING EDITION OF THE PUBLIC POLICY INCUBATOR ?
The call for challenges aims at recruiting partners from the public, private or voluntary sectors who will collaborate with the students selected into the program starting January 2023.
This year, the Public Policy Incubator expresses a special interest in challenges related to the environmental and the digital transition. However, do not hesitate to submit any other challenge as long as it concerns an issue you are facing and related to the common good and/or public action.>
The call for challenges that you can download below, details all the pedagogical objectives of the program, as well as its organization and the selection process.
