Strengthening European Defence in times of turmoil – What can France and Germany contribute?

What strategic steps should Europe take to bolster its defence capabilities? How can the EU navigate the complex landscape of international security while ensuring the cohesion of its member states? And what role will partnerships and alliances play in this endeavour?

On 17 September, the spotlight will be on Tobias Lindner, German Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, who will present his views on how France and Germany can contribute to answering these pressing questions.

This event, organised by the Jacques Delors Centre and Sciences Po, will feature welcome words by Anne-Célia Feutrie, Executive Director of the School of Public Affairs at Sciences Po, and an introduction by Johannes Lindner, Co-Director of the Jacques Delors Centre. It will be moderated by Arancha González, Dean of the Paris School of International Affairs.

Our Spotlight guest, Tobias Lindner, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, will deliver a keynote on European security and defence policy and subsequently engage in a discussion with the on-site public. The entire discussion will take place in English.
