LLM in transnational arbitration & dispute settlement: Students for academic year 2023-2024

Helena is a Brazilian qualified lawyer with over five years of experience in arbitration and litigation. Before joining the TADS LLM, Helena was an associate lawyer at Ferro, Castro Neves, Daltro & Gomide Advogados, a top-tier arbitration and litigation firm in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she worked in high-stake disputes involving construction, corporate and energy issues. She has also acted as administrative secretary of arbitral tribunals. Helena was listed in the 2023 Brazilian legal ranking of female practitioners in the arbitration and construction disputes categories. During Law school, at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, she joined the arbitration and International Commercial Law study group, was an oralist at the Willem C. Vis Moot and coached the university’s team for three consecutive years. Helena speaks fluent English, French, German and Portuguese. She was awarded a full scholarship by the Sciences Po, CAM-CCBC International Arbitration Excellence Grant.

Susana is a Colombian lawyer who graduated from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in 2022. Before joining the TADS LLM, she was selected to be an intern at the Constitutional Court of Colombia for an academic semester and was an intern at the legal department of the energy company Enel Colombia for a year. Since graduation she has been working at a top-tier boutique law firm specialized in arbitration where she has participated in the firm's ongoing arbitration proceedings in infrastructure, and commercial disputes. She speaks English and Spanish fluently and basic French.

Charlott is an attorney-at-law, admitted to the bar in Germany with a track record in dispute resolution gained at tier 1 law firms. Additionally, she possesses extensive experience in white-collar crime and conducted internal investigations at DAX 40 companies and lately as a legal counsel in a German bank.

Charlott holds a Juris Doctor with honours from Goethe University Frankfurt and completed her legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court Frankfurt. In addition, she has furthered her higher education by obtaining a Master's degree in Human Rights from University College London and has deepened her dedication to human rights advocacy while working for Amnesty International in Berlin and the OSCE in Vienna.

Estefanía is a Colombian-qualified lawyer with six years of experience in Dispute Resolution and Public Law.  Before joining the TADS LLM, she worked as an intern at the Embassy of Colombia to the United Kingdom, as an associate in Holland and Knight, Colombia (2017), and Botero, Salazar Tobón & Associates (2017-2019).  Also, she worked as a law clerk at the Colombian Council of State  (2019-2023).  She studied for a LL.B. at the Universidad del Rosario (2017) and a post-graduate diploma in Liability and Damages at the Universidad Externado (2019).  Estefanía is fluent in Spanish and English.

Paula is a Polish lawyer who graduated from the University of Warsaw in 2021. Prior to joining Sciences Po, she worked for over five years in a Polish law firm, where she was promoted to a managing position after two years. Paula specialised in M&A, private equity, cross-border dispute resolution as well as litigation. She has also completed Post-Graduate Studies in Negotiation, Mediation and Other ADR Methods at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw and participated in multiple mediation trainings. In addition to professional work, she has been volunteering in a non-profit organization focused on education about Human Rights, Diversity, Sustainable Development, and Conflict Resolution for over ten years.

Abdullah is an Egyptian-qualified lawyer with 6 years of experience in Dispute Resolution and Corporate Law. Before joining the TADS LLM, he practiced law for six years at top international law firms in Egypt and Qatar. Abdullah has dispute resolution experience at a tier-one Qatari law firm, where he worked in a multi-cultural environment, and interacted with complex concepts and approaches. Most recently, Abdullah was an associate in the International Arbitration department of a leading law firm in Egypt with significant experience in commercial arbitration, working as an Arbitrator Assistant with Prof. Mohamed Sameh Amr. 

Abdullah has expertise in domestic laws of Qatar, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, as well as the rules of the ICC, CRCICA, QICICA, and DIAC, spanning economic and business spectrums with an emphasis on the Construction, Finance, Sale of goods, and franchise sectors in the GCC, UK and Egypt. 

Luísa is a Brazilian lawyer who graduated in 2022. She has been working for over two years in Marcondes Brincas Law Firm, a top-tier law firm in Florianópolis, Brazil, where she advises clients, mainly with corporate issues. Before enrolling in the TADS LLM, she studied for a year (2015-2016) at Universidad de Salamanca Law School, in Spain, enrolled in the summer course in Advanced International Law at the Ludwig-Maximilians University, Munich, Germany (2019), and in the summer course in Private International Law at The Hague Academy, The Hague, Netherlands (2021). Throughout her studies she dedicated herself to academic moot court competitions in International Law and in Corporate Arbitration Law, such as the JESSUP Competition and other two National Moot Courts, CAMARB Competition and CAEMP Competition. In the 2020’s JESSUP Competition, Luísa was qualified to compete in the international rounds, as her team achieved the first place in the Brazilian national rounds of JESSUP Competition, and she was also awarded as the 4th best oralist in the Brazilian national rounds of JESSUP Competition. She speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish and basic French. Luísa has been awarded the Sciences Po Scholarship.

Yashasvi is an Indian-qualified international dispute resolution lawyer with four years of experience. Before joining the TADS LLM, she was working with MRP Advisory, a Dubai-based law firm in its international arbitration practice. She has advised clients for construction contracts being executed and governed by common law and civil law jurisdictions. She has briefed KCs and liaised with lawyers from France, Nepal, Oman, UAE, UK and Netherlands on cross border arbitrations administered by the best arbitration institutions. Previously, she has worked with a retired Judge of the Supreme Court of India, also a renowned arbitrator pan India. She has also worked as a Law Clerk-cum-Research Assistant to Hon’ble Justice U.U. Lalit at the Supreme Court of India (the former Chief Justice of India). She holds a Bachelor of Law from National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad.

Kriti is an Indian-qualified lawyer with over four years of work experience. Prior to joining the TADS LLM at Sciences Po, she worked with boutique law firms and senior counsels in New Delhi. She has experience in matters ranging from core criminal litigation, civil disputes including consumer disputes, as well as arbitrations arising from construction contacts and partnership agreements. She has represented clients in criminal, civil, and commercial litigations before various courts and tribunals in India. She regularly appeared before the Supreme Court of India, the High Court of Delhi, and Arbitral Tribunals, both ad-hoc and institutional.  Kriti graduated with a first-class with distinction in law from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, where she represented her university in several National ADR competitions and National Moot Court competitions. She also pursued a Post-Graduate Diploma in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, and graduated with a first-class degree with special appreciation for her research paper on the Role of Non-Signatory under Indian Arbitration Law.

Daniella is a Brazilian qualified lawyer with domestic and international experience in complex litigation proceedings, consumer law, digital law, and commercial arbitration. For more than seven years, she was part of the litigation team of a top-tier law firm in Brazil, where she advised several Brazilian and foreign companies from different segments, such as technology, banking, investment funds, food, and fashion industry in relevant cases. Daniella served as Teacher Assistant in Civil Law and Consumer Protection Law for the LL.B. programme of Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo - PUC-SP. Daniella is an avid learner and writer. In 2022, she was granted a Master’s Degree in Civil Law cum laude at PUC-SP and her thesis was published by Almedina, one of the most traditional legal publishers in Brazil. Additionally, her research papers have been published in various law journals.

Bingru Ma is a Chinese qualified lawyer who is currently preparing for the SQE2 of the UK Solicitors Qualifying Examination. She is the recipient of the SHAC Scholarship. Prior to joining the TADS LLM, she served at the World Intellectual Property Organization's Arbitration and Mediation Center as a Legal Case Manager for three years. Alongside her role as a Legal Case Manager, Ms. Ma significantly contributed to the WIPO Center's development of a dispute resolution policy tailored to the specific needs of the national domain of China. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Ms. Ma and her colleagues, as of August 1, 2019, the WIPO Center became the only non-Chinese entity to offer domain name dispute resolution services internationally for the .CN and .中国 (China) country code Top-Level Domains (ccTLD), which are among the world's largest ccTLDs. Additionally, she has completed several internships in the litigation & arbitration departments of three other law firms and at the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC). Ms. Ma is proficient in Mandarin, English, and French.

Ameya is an Indian-qualified lawyer with six years of experience in commercial arbitration and litigation. He holds an LL.B Degree from the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata. Before joining the TADS LLM at Sciences Po, he worked as a tribunal secretary in the office of one of the leading independent arbitrators, who is a retired judge of the Supreme Court of India. As a counsel, he has worked with J. Sagar Associates, a prominent law firm in India, for over four years, where his practice was focused on complex commercial arbitrations, arbitration related-litigations, and commercial litigations, principally in the power, infrastructure, and construction sectors.

Ameya regularly contributes to scholarship, and his work has been recognised by prestigious forums such as the National Law School of India Review, the Oxford Business Law Blog, and various leading business newspapers. He is also the recipient of the Sciences Po LLM Scholarship.

Katerina is a Czech lawyer, who, before joining Sciences Po, practiced in a boutique law firm in Prague. In her practice, she focuses on domestic and international arbitration (ICC, UNCITRAL, DIS), investment arbitration, and energy law. Katerina advised clients in complex commercial disputes, acted as a tribunals' secretary, and negotiated cross-border energy contracts. She graduated from Masaryk University (2020, Master of Law) and Charles University (2021, Doctor of Law). Currently, she is pursuing a PhD at Masaryk University in the Department of International and European Law. Katerina speaks Czech, English, German, and basic French.

Maintaining a focus on international arbitration during law school, Julia-Françoise has held several internship positions, including a legal internship with the Justice Attachée Florence Hermite at the Embassy of France in the United States, the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR), and the ICC International Court of Arbitration at SICANA, Inc.

Julia-Françoise is a dual citizen of the United States and France, and will qualify for practice in the US (New York Bar) in February 2025, following completion of her J.D. in September 2024. Before joining the TADS LLM, she studied at New York Univeristy, before being admitted to Villanova Charles Widger School of Law as a J.D. candidate.

Amogh is an Indian-qualified lawyer with five years of experience in handling diverse corporate and commercial disputes and arbitrations. Before joining the TADS LLM, he worked as an Associate with the dispute resolution/arbitration practice group at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.  – one of the leading law firms in India – and has advised and represented several companies based in France, the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Czech Republic, before various courts and international arbitral tribunals. He has worked on several domestic and international arbitrations, along with senior advocates and Kings' counsels. His experience spans various sectors including construction, information technology, telecommunication, oil & gas, and infrastructure. He completed his B.A. LL.B (Hons.) degree from National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi (Gold Medalist) and Post-Graduate diploma in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad (2nd Rank). 

He has contributed to various guides, handbooks and publications including the India chapter of the Global Arbitration Review: Knowhow on Construction Arbitration (2019 - 2023), In-depth feature: Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution 2023, Financier Worldwide, India Chapter of Chambers and Partners Global Practice Guide on "Product Liability & Safety" (2019 - 2020), and the Indian Arbitration Law Review.

Aishwary is an India and UK-qualified lawyer with seven years of arbitration and litigation experience focusing on the Infrastructure and Energy industry. He has prepared dispute strategies, pleadings and evidence for Indian, Japanese and French contractors and employers while working alongside Bid Managers, Site Engineers, and 'Clean' and 'Dirty' Experts in High-Speed Rail, Power Plants and other projects. Prior to joining the TADS LLM, he worked at a premier Indian law firm in New Delhi.

Vatsala is an Indian-qualified lawyer with nearly three years of experience in dispute resolution. Prior to joining Sciences Po, she worked with boutique arbitration law firms in Dubai and New Delhi. Having represented clients from the construction and energy sectors in high stakes ad-hoc and institutional arbitrations in the MENA region and in Indian courts, Vatsala has practiced in both civil law and common law jurisdictions. She briefly served as a Tribunal Secretary to a former Judge of the Supreme Court of India. After completing her Bachelors in Law, Vatsala pursued a Post-Graduate Diploma in Alternative Dispute Resolution and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Maritime Laws from the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad. She also won an accolade in the Willem C. Vis East International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition in 2018 and frequently adjudges arbitration moots.

Linyan is a Chinese qualified lawyer. She speaks Chinese and English. Before joining the TADS LLM program, she acquired six years of work experience in top-tier law firms in mainland China, such as Zhonglun Law Offices. Her primary practice areas include private equity-related transactions, red-chip establishment and dismantling transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters. She has assisted a variety of well-known private equity funds, other investment entities, start-ups and founders in their onshore and offshore investments and financing in a wide range of industry sectors. She graduated from East China University of Political Science and Law with a LL.B. in 2014 and from the same university with a Master of Law degree in International Law in 2017, and from Ghent University (Belgium) with a LL.M. in European Union Law in 2016. She is a recipient of the SHAC Scholarship.
