Anceau, Clarisse

Clarisse Anceau is a PhD candidate at Sciences Po Law School working on feminist approaches to public international law. She draws inspiration from ecofeminist movements to take a critical look at the right to self-determination. She is conducting her research under the supervision of Professor Jean d’Aspremont.

Clarisse has completed a LL.M. and a Master degree in European and international law at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Her first master thesis questioned the permissibility under international law of the French military intervention in Mali, while the second retraced the evolution of the concept of just war in European and Islamic legal discourses. She previously graduated in law from Panthéon-Assas University. Before joining Sciences Po, Clarisse has worked with the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court.
