Biography
Mohamed Elsayeh is a PhD candidate at the Sciences Po Law School working under the supervision of Professors Loïc Azoulai and Helena Alviar (as principal supervisors) and Dr. Élisabeth Anstett (as minor supervisor). His doctoral research investigates the legal, procedural, and policy frameworks surrounding the identification and management of the remains of deceased migrants at international borders. Mohamed served as Teaching Fellow in law on the Reims and Menton campuses of Sciences Po between 2023 and 2025. He has also been the Coordinator of the Migration and Diversity interdisciplinary collective at Sciences Po.
In 2022, Mohamed was a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Law of the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. He serves on the editorial board of the European Journal of Legal Studies, based at the EUI Department of Law.
Mohamed held various positions at inter-governmental and non-governmental organizations prior to joining the Sciences Po Law School. He holds a Master of Laws in International Human Rights from the Irish Centre for Human Rights of the University of Galway and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The American University in Cairo.
