Fromage, Diane

Diane Fromage has been a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellow at the Law School of Sciences Po Paris since September 2020. Her research project (IMPACTEBU) focuses on the impact of the creation of the Banking Union on the institutional structures of the European Union and its Member States, and on accountability standards.

Diane was previously an Assistant Professor of European Law at Maastricht University (2017-2020) and at Utrecht University (2015-2017), and a Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellow in Law at the European University Institute of Florence, Italy (2014-2015). She obtained her PhD in 2013 from the Universities of Pavia (Italy) and Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain) (co-tutelle under the supervision of Alejandro Saiz Arnaiz and Jacques Ziller). Her thesis examined the issue of The participation of the British, the French, the German, the Italian and the Spanish parliaments in the European Union after the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty.

EU Law, and institutional matters in particular, as well as Comparative constitutional law are generally of her interest. Her main areas of research so far have been: the European Central Bank and the Banking Union; the European Parliament, and national and regional parliaments within the EU, as well as on independent fiscal institutions.
