Guirola, Yodenis

Postdoctoral Researcher

Yodenis Guirola is a postdoctoral researcher at Sciences Po Law School. He holds his cum laude PhD in Philosophy, political philosophy in the program of Citizenship and Human Rights, and Diploma of Advanced Studies, DEA, in Ethics, Politics and Rationality by the University of Barcelona; Specialization in Sociopolitical Theory, General studies in Law and Graduate with Honors in Psychology by the Central University in Cuba. He has been visiting scholar at the City University of New York, Graduate Center, and at Stony Brook University; visiting fellow at the UNAM in Mexico and at the National Academy of Sciences of Buenos Aires. Invited professor for courses, conferences or seminars at Saint Louis University, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Université Catholique de Louvain, Universidad Nacional del Sur, Universidad Nacional de Lanús, Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos, Universidad del Cauca, and at the Latin American Council of Social Sciences. Associate Researcher of the Núcleo Práxis of Research, Popular Education and Politics of the University of São Paulo, Brazil; and founder member of the Ibero-American Association of Practical Philosophy.

At Sciences Po, Doctor Guirola is developing a critical and multidimensional approach on Law: integrating political philosophy and socio-anthropological psychology in the analysis of Law as an agent of identity-making and social change, and analyzing the impact of liberal distributive rationality in the Cuban Legislative Reform.
