Montserrat Bermúdez Jordana, Paulette

Paulette Montserrat Bermúdez Jordana is a feminist Ph.D. candidate at Sciences Po Law School, working under the supervision of Professor Dr. Helena Alviar García. She holds a Bachelor of Law from the Universidad de Guadalajara (2020), specializing in public international law, and has obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in international human rights law and environmental protection from the Univerzita Karlova in Prague, Czech Republic (2022). Her master's dissertation is titled: "Parity Democracy in the light of international human rights law: The case of Mexico," which was accomplished under the supervision of Dr. Harald Christian Scheu, Ph.D.
In 2019 she did an internship at the Interamerican Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) in the merits section, where she worked on various cases concerning human rights violations in Latin America. She has also been a judge of the American University Inter-American Moot Court on human rights.
Her research explores the right to the truth in the cases of disappearances in Mexico and how the victims (direct and indirect) perceive whether their right to the truth is guaranteed or not with a legal/sociological approach.
