Pierre-Louis Périn is an avocat specialised in corporate law and a partner of Bersay, a French law firm of 40+ lawyers with an international reach.
His practice covers Mergers & Acquisition, Venture Capital and Private Equity. He also has expertise in structuring private equity management companies and vehicles, corporate governance, incentive schemes, shareholders disputes, and joint ventures. He is bilingual in French and English and has an international practice.
Pierre-Louis is actively involved with France Invest, the French PE & Venture Capital Association. He was the vice-chairman of France Invest’s Ethics Commission and has edited France Invest’s “Best practices guide for Venture Capital” (2011, 2019). He also participated to the think tank program of the Collège des Bernardins on the governance of corporations.
Pierre-Louis is a graduate from Sciences Po Paris (SP, 1984) and the University of Paris II – Panthéon Assas (Doctorate in Law, 1999). After ten years in the legal departments of financial and industrial groups (Peugeot Citroen, Thomson, Axa), Pierre-Louis became an avocat and is a member of the Paris bar. He has been a partner at the firms Deloitte (2000-2001), SJBerwin – KWM (20001-2017) and Reed Smith (2017-2019).
Pierre-Louis Périn is the author, together with professor Michel Germain, of the leading reference book on the Société par Actions Simplifiée (SAS) - sixth edition published in 2016. He has also written many articles on capital investment, corporate law and corporate social responsibility.
He is an affiliate professor at Sciences Po’s Law school, where he teaches corporate law and clinical studies of corporate social responsibility. He also gives or has given lectures at INSEAD, HEC and the Universities of Paris I – Panthéon Sorbonne and Paris II – Panthéon Assas.
