Bamdad Shams is doctor from Sciences Po Law School, where he completed his Ph.D. in Private International Law under the supervision of Professor Horatia Muir Watt (July 2019). His thesis is entitled: “Conflict of laws and private production of fundamental rights : towards a theoretical renewal”.
He passed the French Bar Exam (Versailles Bar School, 2013) and holds a Master 2 degree in Private International Law and Trade Law from Panthéon-Sorbonne University (Paris I, 2012). He holds a Master 1 degree in International Law from the University of Cergy-Pontoise (2011). He is also a graduate of the American Graduate School (AGS) in Paris (2011).
During his Ph.D. studies, Bamdad was a lecturer at Sciences Po Undergraduate College, where he gave courses in conflict of laws and international commercial arbitration. He also worked at Cergy-Pontoise University as a temporary lecturer and research assistant in private law, where he gave courses in introduction to law, contract law, family law and private international law.
