The European security and defence landscape is both captivating and complex, offering a rich web of legally unexplored dimensions. Amidst this complexity, there are numerous issues of international and European law that require closer scrutiny. In a half-day interactive workshop, we aim to unravel some of the legal intricacies of European security and defence—a topic that will remain at the forefront of academic and political discussions in the years to come.

The event will bring together scholars specialising in international and European law with a view to engaging in a comprehensive and critical discussion on European security and defence in the 21st century. There will be two thematic panels dealing with general legal issues as well as specific cases and contexts, such as the war in Ukraine.
