>We extend our warmest congratulations.

The Alliance Call for Doctoral Mobility is intended to support and finance transatlantic research projects of the highest quality, in all disciplines under a joint supervision of faculty members from Columbia, Sciences Po, Paris 1, and Ecole Polytechnique.

This year Alliance awarded 15 PhD Mobility Grants to graduate students from all member institutions and in all disciplines. Sciences Po is privileged to count among them, two recipients in Political science and Sociology:

Maya ChehadeMaya Chehade is a French-Syrian second-year Ph.D. student at Sciences Po Paris. Maya has worked for several years in the private sector with Syrian refugees in the Middle East, before starting her doctoral research at Sciences Po on the topic of “the impact of the private sector on Syrian refugees in Jordan”, thesis under the supervision of Prof. Jean-Pierre Filiu. During the Alliance Doctoral Mobility, she will work with ASPIRE, a Columbia University Research Project on Syrian refugees that include researchers and partners at local universities, governmental agencies, NGOs, and the UN in Jordan. Her doctoral mobility at Columbia aims to capitalize on data collected by ASPIRE in 2016 and 2018 to help the progress of her dissertation in a context of difficulty of access to the fieldwork due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
