Tiphaine Lours, Roy Porter Prize 2023/2024
Congratulations to Tiphaine Lours, a doctoral student specialising in the history of medical knowledge, the history of science, the history of the body and disability, and the social history of the 19th century, who has been awarded a prize for her article ‘The most horrible and disgusting infirmity that can afflict women: A Pioneering Approach to Vesicovaginal Fistula Repairs in Paris (1830s-1840s)’ as part of the Roy Porter 2023/2024 prize organised by the Society for the Social History of Medicine (‘highly commended entry’). This prize is aimed at young researchers in the history of medicine and is intended to facilitate publication of the article in question in the international journal Social History of Medicine.
