2016 Michel David-Weill Scholarship

Princeton University senior Emily de La Bruyère has been awarded the 2016 Michel David-Weill Scholarship. Emily is set to graduate from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs in May and will begin a Master’s programme in international security at the Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs in September 2016.

When asked about her plan to pursue her graduate studies at Sciences Po and her goals for the future, Emily said: "I intend to pursue a Master’s degree in international security at the Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs. That means the chance to study the issues that matter most to me, in one of the world’s pre-eminent institutions, at a critical juncture for Europe and for the world. After earning a Master's I hope to serve in the U.S. military and, ultimately, to play a role in crafting America’s foreign policy. I can imagine no better preparation than two years at Sciences Po, and no perspective more powerful than the international one it offers. I want to thank the Michel David Weill Scholarship foundation for this opportunity. I am incredibly excited for the next two years!"

The Michel David-Weill Scholarship is awarded each year to one American student who exemplifies the core values embodied by Michel David-Weill: academic excellence, leadership, multiculturalism, tolerance and high achievement. Candidates are selected on the basis of their literary and scholastic achievements, capacity for critical analysis, demonstrated history of leadership, and a proven commitment to community. The $80,000 scholarship covers all of the recipient’s tuition, living and travelling expenses for two years while he or she pursues a Master's degree programme at Sciences Po.
