Civic Engagement Days: Preparing Our Students to Drive Social Change
Held across the seven campuses of Sciences Po Undergraduate College, this cross-cutting event aimed to raise awareness among bachelor’s students about the importance of their role in society, encouraging them to become engaged citizens.
The programme included methodological workshops to introduce students to fieldwork techniques, as well as forums and roundtable discussions with partner institutions and organisations involved in the Civic Learning Programme.
This unique opportunity fostered social, intercultural, and intergenerational connections while training students in participatory approaches to responsibly address contemporary global challenges.
Through their testimonials, numerous inspiring speakers shared their experiences, inviting students to become drivers of social change:
- Dijon Campus: Chloé Simeha, Director of the ESPEREM association, former Director of Inclusion and Integration at the Red Cross, and Augusto Comé, spécialiste du secteur humanitaire à Reach Initiative, à l'UNICEF et à OCHA;
- Le Havre Campus: Manon Giovinazzo, humanitarian expert at Reach Initiative, UNICEF and OCHA;
- Menton Campus: Dr Philippe de Botton, endocrinologist and diabetologist, former President of Médecins du Monde, et Maxim Karkutli, Alumnus, Migration Programme Coordinator for the International Humanitarian Section of the Monegasque Red Cross;
- Nancy Campus: Thibaut Besozzi, Head of the Observatoire du sans-abrisme et de la précarité résidentielle in Lorraine (an organisation focusing on homelessness and housing insecurity);
- Paris Campus: Flore Vasseur, Author, Director, and Producer of the documentary Bigger Than Us;
- Poitiers Campus: Baptiste Maynier, alias Piko Paseos, Photographer, Painter and Travelling Artist, and Sylvain Maynier, Former Captain of the PB 86, 3x3 Basketball Technical Operator for the Paris 2024 Olympics Committee ;
- Reims Campus: Sonia Souad Amamra, Alumna, Co-Founder of the Meet My Mama start-up, and Director of the Empower My Mama association.
